Sunday, 25 April 2027: the Gozo Half Marathon, 21.1 km down to the Mediterranean, along the coast and back up to a village-square finish. AIMS-certified, running since 1977, and no ballot. Just enter.

Fly Friday, race Sunday

01Friday
Fly to Malta, ferry to Gozo
Fly into Malta International Airport, then head north to Ċirkewwa for the short ferry crossing to Mġarr, Gozo. Staying on the island puts you minutes from the start.
02Saturday
Collect your number, see the island
Runners from overseas collect their race number in Gozo. The Ġgantija Temples, older than Stonehenge, are in Xagħra itself, and the Citadel and Ramla Bay are a short hop away.
03Sunday
Race, then the beach
Start at 7.30am in Xagħra Square, Gozo. Staying in Malta? Take the 05:45 ferry and the free shuttle from Mġarr. Awards are at 11:00 in the square, and you're done in time for lunch by the sea.

Coming from the UK

How do I get to the start from the airport?

Malta International Airport is in the south of Malta; the Gozo ferry leaves from Ċirkewwa in the north, then crosses to Mġarr. Most runners from abroad arrive a day or two early and stay in Gozo. If you're staying in Malta, the 05:45 ferry connects with a free shuttle to the start.

Is it a fast course?

It's a proper island course: fast downhill to the coast early on, flat along the sea, then the climbs back up to Xagħra, which sits about 140 m above sea level. Come for the views and the atmosphere; bring your hill legs.

Where do I collect my race number?

There is a collection day in Gozo for runners from overseas. We email everyone with the details when collection is due.

What if I get a London place after all?

Entry fees are non-refundable, but transfers to another runner may be allowed up to a cut-off date. Contact us to ask.
