FAQ

Spring half marathon questions

Why choose Gozo for a spring half marathon in Europe?

Gozo offers ideal late-April running conditions (18–22°C, sunny, coastal breezes) without the unpredictable freezing rain of northern Europe. The course is AIMS-certified and Athletics Malta Gold Label, registration is open with no lottery ballot, and the island is English-speaking with world-class hospitality.

How do I get to the race from Europe?

Fly into Malta International Airport (MLA), take a direct transfer or bus to Ċirkewwa Ferry Terminal, and take the 25-minute Gozo Channel ferry to Mġarr. On race morning, free shuttle buses connect the ferry with the start line in Xagħra Square.

Is the course flat or hilly?

It is a scenic island course with varied topography: a fast descent to the coast over the first 3 km, coastal running past Marsalforn and Qbajjar, followed by gradual climbs through traditional villages (Għasri, Għarb, Victoria) back up to Xagħra (144 m elevation). It is designed for scenery, challenge, and atmosphere.

Are there companion races for family or non-runners?

Yes! Along with the half marathon, race day features an AIMS-certified 10K race, a 5K race, 10K and 5K walkathons, a Family 2K run, and Kids races (2km and 900m). Everyone in your group can participate.

When should I enter to get the best price?

Early-bird pricing is available until Thursday 31st December 2026. Standard pricing runs from Friday 1st January 2027, and late registration runs until Saturday 24th April 2027.
