About il-Ġirja t'Għawdex
il-Ġirja t'Għawdex (the Gozo Half Marathon) is Malta's longest-running road race, held every April in Xagħra, Gozo, since 1977. Organised entirely by volunteers from the Xagħra Youth Centre under the Run Gozo organisation, the event welcomes over 1,700 athletes from 57+ countries across eight races — from the AIMS-certified, Athletics Malta Gold Label half marathon and 10K to walkathons, a family run and kids' races. Through its Fair Play Initiative, the organisation raises funds for charitable projects in Malta and overseas.
