About il-Ġirja t'Għawdex
il-Ġirja t'Għawdex (the Gozo Half Marathon) is the longest-running road race in Gozo, first run in 1977 and held in April in Xagħra. Organised entirely by volunteers from the Xagħra Youth Centre under the Run Gozo organisation, the event welcomes over 1,700 athletes from 57+ countries across eight races — from the AIMS-certified, Athletics Malta Gold Label half marathon and 10K to walkathons, a family run and kids' races. Through its Fair Play Initiative, the organisation raises funds for charitable projects in Malta and overseas.

Every race has its own colour, the same one it wears across this site. A graphic about a race is always in that race's colour, never another's.

- Large text means 24 px and up, or 19 px bold. Smaller text on a race colour goes in ink #141821, or the panel switches to the race's deep shade, where white passes at any size.
- Never dark text on blue, never white text on green or yellow.
- Yellow #FFA601 with ink text is also the Register button. One per graphic; nothing else is that colour unless the graphic is about the kids' races.
Race photos in race colours
When a photo stands for a race, it's printed in a tritone: a deep partner colour in the shadows, the race colour in the mid-tones and white in the highlights.
- The partner is always dark and never another race's colour: deep Rose Red #6B1A2E under blue, deep Polynesian Blue #00244D under green, red and yellow.
- Pick photos with real shadows. Crowds, the start and close-ups hold up; big skies and very bright frames fade to white.
- Text never sits on a busy photo. Put it on a solid race-colour panel or a dark scrim.
- Press using our photos in their own layouts can run them in full colour. The tritone is for Run Gozo's own graphics and partner material.
